Built during the Roman period, the "Tapada Grande Dam" is located on a pasture land with olive trees and cork oaks.

Constructed by a masonry wall in opus incertum, a little more than half a meter thick, this structure was erected in a depression between two elevations observed in the above ground, and was reinforced downstream by a mass of triangular section, currently quite deteriorated. Composed of an almost rectilinear railing, this monument was intended for the abstraction of rainwater, functioning, therefore, in its origin, as a dam for agricultural purposes.

In the vicinity of the dam were recorded several material evidence that seems to confirm a certain continuity recorded in the human activities developed in this area during the Roman and medieval period, namely in agricultural and funerary terms, the latter evidenced in the characteristic burials excavated in the rock.

Megalithic funerary monument, "Anta dos Olheiros" is situated in a rural area on the right bank of the Rib d'Ante, and will have been erected in the middle of the Neo-Chalcolithic era.

Of the seven steles that originally composed the sepulchral chamber of irregular polygonal plan, only one is presented whole, remaining of the other six only their respective bases, apparently in situ.  From the primitive corridor, of small dimensions and orientated to the source, only the bases of the first two supports arrived to us.

Although the monument is very degraded, there are still some vestiges of the demarcation of the mamoa - or tumulus - original. [AMartins]

[AMartins]

Inserted in the context of the so-called "Megalithic Necropolis of the Coureleiros", the "Anta dos Coureleiros V" is located next to a wall that divides a rural property of the parish of Santiago Maior.

Despite being quite damaged and uncharacterized, this megalithic monument erected between the 4th and 3rd millennium a. C. has a sepulchral chamber composed of seven granite steles, of which only three came to us whole and standing. Though bent and supported on some of the studs, the hat is still complete.

Of the corridor orientated to the Southeast are at the moment visible two of its primios estancias. However, the newly constructed wall passed through this prehistoric structure on the side of the entrance to the corridor, whereby the respective supports were artificially separated from the rest of the monument.

Belonging to the set of five graves named "Megalithic Necropolis of Coureleiros", the "Anta dos Coureleiros I" is implanted in an isolated way in an area of pastures and cork trees.Although it is very degraded, three of the seven granite stones that originally formed the sepulchral chamber, of which only one appears whole and inclined to the interior of the space corresponding to the old chamber, are still visible. As for the other two, they find themselves practically at the level of their base. From the primitive and relatively short, spring-oriented corridor, it was only possible to point out the location of the alveoli of fixation of the four original, now unfortunately missing vanes.Although quantitatively more modest, the estate found in this monument of the Neo-Chalcolithic is notoriously close to that of other megalithic structures belonging to the "Megalithic Necropolis of Couriers", and of which, roughly speaking, in addition to ceramic material, some examples of necklace beads, arrowheads and shale plates, significantly represented in this specific case.

Implanted alone in an area of pasture and oaks, the "Anta do Tapadão da Relva" was erected in full Neo-Chalcolithic. Constructed of granite slabs and slabs, the funerary chamber, with an elongated polygonal plan, is made up of seven large steles, of which only one is whole, although it shows a large fracture line approximately halfway above the ground. From the primitive table - or hat - only a part has come to us, which rests on three of these stones. The corridor, about four meters long, opens to the source and is made up of six oversized steeply sloping inland - two on the right and four on the left - and two roof slabs, of which only one is in situ at the entrance to the chamber. In addition to these elements, three granite pillars with a parallelepiped configuration, possibly to support the roof, two of which at the entrance of the roof and the third on the left side of the entrance of the chamber, are still visible.Although little prominent on the ground, it is still possible to distinguish the mamoa and some of the stones that would support and surround the whole monument.

[AMartins]

Built in the middle of the Neo-Chalcolithic period, the "Anta do Porto Aivado" stands on a hill of pronounced domination over the surrounding landscape, punctuated by the presence of pastures, olive trees and cork oaks.

From the primitive sepulchral chamber, at present only the vestiges of three of the probable stones that make it are visible, since the state of ruin in which the monument is found seriously complicates the integral reading of this megalithic funerary structure. It is likewise difficult to infer the existence of a corridor at its origin, even though indications in the late eighties seem to point to the presence of a mamoa - or tumulus -, which would cover in its entirety this pre- historic.

Classified in 1997 as a "Property of Public Interest", the "Anta do Cerejeiro" is located in an isolated way in the vicinity of Monte do Cerejeiro, on the left bank of Ribeiro de S. João, in a dry and irrigated area.

Built in the midst of the Neo-Chalcolithic period, this megalithic tomb is found in an advanced state of ruin, so far no evidence of the existence of the primitive corridor and the mamoa - or tumulus - has been recorded. In fact, the only testimonies of this prehistoric structure are summarized only by the bases of two granite stones embedded in situ. [AMartins]

[AMartins]

Located relatively isolated on a pasture land surrounded by oaks and cork oaks on the left bank of the Riba de Nisa, this megalithic funerary monument will have been erected between the Neolithic and the Chalcolithic. The large sepulchral chamber, of polygonal plan, is composed of seven granite stones of great thickness (of which only one is fractured), still quite well nailed in the ground and with a maximum height that will not exceed the meter and a half. They are all inclined to the interior of the chamber, mainly due to the absence of the hat - or tumulus that gave him consistency and support. From the primitive and narrow corridor, about six meters long and located to the East, we have reached to our days only three of the steles that formed the northern slope and two of those that formed the south alignment. On the first two stalks stuck near the entrance of the chamber is still visible one of the primordial elements of the respective cover.

There were many vestiges corresponding to the primitive mamoa that would cover all this prehistoric monument, which would have been partially destroyed during the excavation carried out during the construction of the railway line of the Cáceres branch. [AMartins]

[AMartins]
