Located in a rural area and attached to the wall of one of the houses on Monte do Mouratão, this megalithic tomb monument was erected between the fourth and second millennium BC. W.First excavated by the researcher of eight hundred, Francisco António Pereira da Costa (1809-1889), still in the late sixties, Anta do Mouratão, as it is more commonly known, has a regular polygonal plant chamber formed by seven of the primordial eight stalks granitic rocks, three of which are fractured. The hat, still full, is inclined and supported, partly, in the wall of the housing that was attached to him in imprecise date. All other elements that were to make up the entire dolmen were completed with stone masonry and lime mortar. In addition, a door has also been placed in the entrance area of the chamber, with a view to its re-use for purposes other than the originals. For this reason, too, the whole exterior of the monument was plastered and fell with a yellow baseboard, which eventually gave it a somewhat rounded form. From the primitive mamoa - or tumulus - and from the corridor no traces have been found to date. Localizado numa zona
segundo milénio a. C.
[AMartins]

The present classification as "National Monument" refers to a megalithic grave erected between the four millennia and the second millennium a. C. in a relatively isolated place and surrounded by undergrowth and some shrubs.Considered one of the best preserved megalithic monuments in the county of Castelo de Vide, it can be seen that, of the seven steles that constitute the sepulchral chamber of a polygonal plant, two are found to be fractured. With a width that is greater than its height, the taper has a covering slab of considerable dimensions, completely complete and supported by three of the camera's studs. From the primitive corridor, about four and a half meters long, only six of the lateral supports and two of the slabs that cover it have reached to the present day. However, only two of the covering stones of this element of this prehistoric funerary structure are located in situ, and it is possible that the slab observable on them refers to the old closing stone of the entrance of the chamber. As for the primitive mamoa - or tumulus - it is almost imperceptible.
milénio e o segundo milénio a.
[AMartins]
