Implanted on a plateau in open land, this megalithic funerary monument is considered to be one of the most relevant, not only of all existing in the municipality of Castelo de Vide, but above all of the megalithism of the Northeast Alentejano, namely its Cairn type cover.The dolmen has an irregular polygonal chamber about three and a half meters in diameter, formed by seven granite stalks about three meters high on average. Of these, four are destroyed or partially fragmented. The tapir is still covered by a huge hat - or tumulus - triangular.Of the possible existence of a corridor still no vestiges have been found so far, despite the registration of several granite blocks around the tapir. They will, however, correspond to some of the beacons eventually used during the process of building this imposing megalithic architecture. On one side of the entrance to the sepulchral chamber are two stalks of much smaller dimensions, which would eventually delimit an area filled with small stones, literally piled up inside and outside the tapir, and corresponding roughly to the primitive mamoa . Implantado num planalto em terreno descampado, este monumento funerário megalítico é considerado como um dos mais relevantes, não apenas de todos os existentes no concelho de Castelo de Vide, como, sobretudo, do megalitismo do Nordeste Alentejano, designadamente pela sua cobertura tipo Cairn.
O dólmen possui câmara poligonal irregular com cerca de três metros e meio de diâmetro, formada por sete esteios graníticos com cerca de três metros de altura, em média. Destes, quatro estão destruídos ou parcialmente fragmentados. A anta apresenta-se ainda coberta por um enorme chapéu - ou tumulus - triangular.
Da possível existência de um corredor ainda não foram encontrados quaisquer vestígios até ao momento, apesar do registo de diversos blocos graníticos em redor da anta. Corresponderão, no entanto, a alguns dos esteios eventualmente utilizados durante o processo de edificação desta imponente arquitectura megalítica.
Num dos lados da entrada da câmara sepulcral encontram-se dois esteios de dimensões bastante mais reduzidas, que acabariam por delimitar uma área preenchida com pedras de pequenas dimensões, literalmente amontoadas no interior e no exterior da anta, e que corresponderiam grosso modo à primitiva mamoa.
